30 Day Challenge 3 of 30

Oh geeze. Only day 3 & I've already messed up. I somehow skipped the 'clouds' prompt & realized it two days later. So coming up in two days: CLOUDS!

Day 3 of 30 Something green (supposed to be clouds)

My daughter cracks me up. I was starting to have concerns over her drawings especially after she drew the 'zombie baby w blood on it's head'. She later told me (after much nervous questioning) it was a baby wearing a mask of ketchup so the zombies didn't get her. It made me realize that art is not objective when you are a child. One questionable picture from your kid & you are quickly getting a call from the school counselor. Sigh. A friend reminded me not to be so anxious about the art & just embrace her creativity so that is what I'm trying to do. Since it's close to Halloween I guess this is her interpretation.
Mummy mommy princess, blowing bubbles. She wanted me to take particular note of the eyes. The green eyes.

joy of LOVE 18: going out

When you are a SAHM this is pretty typical of 'going out'. Today we went to the grocery store & our last stop is always the Asian section. The kids get to pick out a snack & drink so they are always excited to finally get there. So many options!

joy of LOVE 07: generations

Well it was hard to come up w something for this prompt, seeing as we are in Japan. I would have loved to get some kind of generational shot (& believe me, family, when you get here I will be) but it wasn't happening today especially since I also wanted to stick w the Monday me theme.
So I asked the girl, Do you want to take a picture w me?
Her, Can we wear hats?
Uh... do we need to wear hats?
Yes.
So here we are in our hats making some silly faces.

I'm doing willette's the joy of LOVE for 28 days of inspiration.
Today was: What they do.
What do my love(s) do?? They PLAY! They blow bubbles! I wish every day could be a sunshiny bubble filled day.
I'm also submitting this for CIUAN's weekly I learned bc this week I learned that in the winter, our backyard has the most beautiful set up for back lighting & bokeh! Get ready to see lots of pics taken here!

Today the girl helped me make some brownies. Of course, from scratch! I intend to compile all of my paternal grandparent's recipes into a cookbook so I would like to try & make as many of them as I can bf I print them out. These babies took abt 20 minutes longer than the suggested cooking time but turned out really nice. She loves to help me do anything but oh, how messy cooking w a 3 yr old can be. At one point there was melted butter all over the floor, which meant not only did I do some baking today, I also did some cleaning.

In an editing note, does this picture look a little cool? I can't quite decide.

Japanese fizzy drinks & a happy accident.
Today has been a crap day. I only had a few minutes to snap the kids having their snacks of Japanese crackers & fizzy drinks & got this shot, not having a plan, just hoping to get a different angle. When I finally saw it I thought it would be perfect w only the bottle in color. I just got Scott Kelby's book on Lightroom in the mail this week & had actually seen an example of this! It was so easy! Duh, you editing geniuses are saying. But I have likened myself to a chimpanzee hitting the keyboard when it comes to editing, so I was well proud when I did this. Yea me.

The kids have come to understand that bath time is not play time w me. Bath time is all abt business. The quicker I can get them clean the quicker they can get out (& to bed!) But I guess if I can get some shots like this, bath time might be a little more fun for everyone.
