joy of LOVE 24: where
This prompt was kinda tough since we move so often. I'd love to show you where I met the husband, where our first home was, where our kids were born or where we had some of our favorite vacations. But alas, those places are so very, very far away. Instead I took the kids out to visit the beach. It was a beautiful evening & I thought what better place to photograph than Okinawa. Living here has had it's ups & downs for me. But I have a kind of fickle love affair w the island. It's where my kids have learned Japanese & explored places they will never see again. It's where I gave birth to my beautiful son. It's where my husband & I have fallen in love w friendships & the possibilities of our future. Okinawa, like so many other places we have lived, will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Just love the colors in this photo! There is just something about it that draws me in.
ReplyDeleteAmazing picture and beautiful story! Being a Navy brat, myself, I completely relate to moving away from firsts, but each of those places always mean something so dear! It's an experience that you'll treasure forever!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I love this so much...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color!
ReplyDelete...again ditto to Chelsea. My parents once took a MAC flight there while we were stationed in the Philippines. As a Navy 'brat' there were times that I wished that I had a 'family home or area' to go back to, but in my case I think it better prepared me for my life now as an adult...we have moved 5x in 8yrs of marriage. :)
Beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteOh my word this picture is amazing. Totally priceless. We lived in Okinawa when I was little but I was too little to remember. So amazing that your kids are learning to speak Japenese.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photo. Love the story to go with it too.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun peaking out behind the islet and the kids frolicking in the water. perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis is an absolutely beautiful picture Trisha.
ReplyDeleteThis picture tells a great story. I love the colors and feel of it, and I adore how you can see the kids interacting with one another. This will be a great memory to have of your time there.
ReplyDeleteI can not imagine moving all the time, I have lived in NJ all my life. I grew up in one town and only moved once, to where I live now. I've been in the same town for the last 30 years.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful place to be and I am sure you will carry wonderful memories with you.
Just plain gorgeous. I have only moved twice in my life. Once when I went to college and another when we moved to our current home. I envy all the wonderful things you've been able to experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful image. When we left our last house it was heart wrenching. We put so much into it. Had so many firsts there, so many wonderful memories with friends, Grayden was actually born in the house... lots of tears upon leaving. Military families leave little pieces of their hearts all over the world :)
