Monday Me
I'm not going to lie. I love this photo. It's not exceptional or amazing but it means something to me. If you didn't know better, you'd look at this picture & think of a gal having a quiet, relaxing breakfast. A cup of coffee in a peaceful seaside cafe. The reality couldn't be farther from the truth. The truth is, we were having breakfast out bc our cleaning people were at our house. We were squeezed into this tiny seaside cafe where you could hear a pin drop. My son was drinking the last of his syrup from the plastic container while my daughter sat & watched yogurt drip off her wooden spoon onto the wooden floor. The husband & I were tag teaming holding the baby bc there were no high chairs. I had set up my camera on top of two menus w all eyes on me & the husband thinking, NOW! You're doing this NOW! I took only 3 shots. So yeah, I love this photo. It represents both the reality & the idealism of my life.

Ha! Ok so my shutter speed is crazy slow but as I said, my life doesn't allow for extra time to fiddle w settings.
Your shutter speed didn't seem to effect the picture at all! I love that breakfast is in focus and you're not. I would have totally thought you were having a peaceful breakfast if you hadn't told that story but the story makes the picture so interesting. Love it. This is what 365 is about, capturing the moment! :)
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so great! Especially given the background story!
ReplyDeleteI love it, i love the focus on the food and composition and everything. Your shutter speed is okay because you're not hand holding your camera.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! Yeah, I guess you're right abt the shutter speed. I just get nervous when it dips into those single digits but like you said, it didn't affect the shot.
ReplyDeleteHehe :) I love the story, especially the escapades of your kiddos.. my older son decided to try dipping his booster seat straps in his milk at dinner tonight. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteLove the focus here! And the story had me smiling a big enough smile my husband asked me what was so funny! I think it's a great shot :)
ReplyDeleteI love this photo, especially how it is focused on the food. good job!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I can just imagine this all happening. You are so great at writing out the details. A great capture of "you"!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a morning, huh?! Great shot though...you never would have thought with how peaceful you look!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! Oh I know how you feel. My husband and I had cabin fever the other night and decided to take our 3 kids out to eat. Oh it was a nightmare. I was just thinking a good shot would be to point the camera down the table and get everyone in the picture and what they are doing. The other night that would have been my oldest son eating and making silly faces at my middle child. My middle child would have been screaming because the oldest was making faces at him (with his food untouched) and my youngest would have been sliding out of her seat with her food all over the table. LOL! But the last thing on my mind that night was my camera.
ReplyDeleteLove this! It sounds vaguely familiar too with the crazy story behind it. You would never know though.. it looks quite peaceful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful shot especially with all that was going on! I love the what tricks the camera can do for us!!!
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you prefaced this with the story behind it. I was going to be very jealous you had a quiet moment to sip coffee and just relax. Glad I'm not the only mom surrounded with chaos.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot! Beautiful.
