Same as Chelsea. My dad was also in the Navy...after every deployment, he would bring something back from where he was visiting. I still have everything to this day.
Our thing is hubby brings me home a pair of earrings from each new place he visits. It keeps him under control (otherwise he has a hard time completing his shopping, hehe) and he's gotten to the point of really knowing my taste in jewelry :) Those little boxes are fun!
Ahh, my Dad was in the Navy and would always bring us back a doll from each place he visited!! I love it!
