Some days it is so hard to choose just one picture. Today my plan was to get shots of some quirky Japanese clothes I bought the baby. But dang it, he is just so darn beautiful I had to choose this one. Thanks to Kathleen for keeping his attention & thanks to Courtney for those back button focusing tips. I can tell a big difference! PS, my husband has proclaimed he looks like he has a plastic chin. That isn't overboard editing skills, it's drool any mother would (probably) recognize.

  2. Love the photograph. The catch lights really make those beautiful eyes pop! I'd like to see this one cropped more to E's head.

  6. His eyes are so sparkly that you hardly notice the drool on his chin.

  10. I'll have to check out this back button focusing - although I'm already SO overwhelmed with all this new information. Up until a month ago, I thought I was a real photographer because I sometimes went without my flash. Haha.
Your little boy is just adorable in this picture. And not to sound redundant, but those EYES!!! Plastic chin. Hahaha.

  14. All your comments mean so much! Thanks!
@ Carrie, I have been shooting in manual for abt 7 months & I've just now started doing bbf 100% of the time. It was set up on my camera but when fiddling w all my other settings it was something I always forgot about. I'm just glad I can remember to do it now! ha

  15. @ Jason, yeah I thought abt a tighter crop but I guess I was still trying to get some of his shirt in there. Also I guess bc he's so far in the top of the photo I was kinda going w a rule of thirds kind of thing but I can see how it might look awkward.
