A mom's work is never done.
Really I had hoped to get a cool picture of me today. Artistic maybe. Makeup on, at least. But my days are so filled w school drop offs & pick ups, ballet class, laundry, making baby food, making meals, exercising, SHOWERING, play dates, etc. I barely have time to cut my fingernails until I'm mortality wounding one of the kids. Even right now I'm sitting here w the baby in a sling, being smacked in the face w Sophie the giraffe. My kids don't even have homework or play competitive sports or that 4th sibling we keep talking about yet & still every day is filled from sun up to sun down. I'm a stay at home mom & some days I barely have time for mothering. Is this just me or does everyone feel this overwhelmed?
So here's Monday Me. Making peanut butter w my helper bf I whisk her off to ballet.

  1. Trisha, NO IT ISN'T JUST YOU!!! You said it well: "I'm a stay at home mom and some days I barely have time for mothering". I've felt this so often, and my children aren't even at the "older" ages yours are where they are involved in any activities outside of the home. But you know what? It sounds like you're really taking your position as mother/homemaker seriously, and are working diligently. And it is wonderful that you are finding ways to involve your little ones in your daily tasks:)

And your picture is good! Normal is good:)

  2. Oh I feel the same way. I really do. I have also been having a hard time with it. It is so hard to fight off the guilt, but I try to tell myself that I do not have to be super mom. This project is actually my first big step to do something for myself and to take more time doing something that I enjoy.

  3. I totally hear ya about being run ragged. But, for you to be supporting your kids in all the activities they do, homework AND making homemade peanut butter for them...I think that's called super MOM!! So, don't get down on yourself, your kids will remember that you were ALWAYS there for them and that's what counts!!

  5. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for close to 25 years. I loved, enjoyed, and relished in very minute of it. There was rarely a moment for myself and I often wondered how out of the home full time working moms did/do it.
Now my sons are grown and out on their own, I work full time and still barely have time for anything. Can't someone create more hours in the day!

  6. I feel the exact same way. Thinking about working and single moms gives me stress palpitations lol... How, how, how can they do it? I admire all of them :)

  7. I absolutely love being a SAHM. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Love how your little girl is sitting there in her ballet outfit. Too cute.

  10. I totally know how you feel! I even had a crying fit yesterday cuz I felt so overwhelmed! With school, lessons, homework, housework, playdates and all that I feel like i never have time for myself. I even was kinda relieved when Kai didn't want to do flag football. That's just way too much right now. I don't know how some mothers do it!
